“Digitisation of the Travel Customer Journey” stirs the Travel Business


More than 40 decision makers in the travel and transportation industry accepted the invitation by Dr. Fried & Partner to the Travel & Transportation Summit 2017. This year, the topic “Digitalisation of the Travel Customer Journey” was the focus of the event on 24 November 2017, and in lectures and workshops it offered participants the opportunity to engage in intensive, practice oriented exchanges.

Stephan Haller, managing partner of Dr. Fried & Partner, gave directions for the digital transformation of the Travel Customer Journey as part of his keynote speech and presented the results of this year’s online survey exclusively regarding the summit topic.

Andreas Klug, evangelist for digital transformation and head of marketing at ITyX, showed impressively how artificial intelligence is already being used actively in other sectors and how AI can change the Travel Customer Journey in the future. The workshops focused on the topics of “digital services” and “data management” along the digital Travel Customer Journey. The inspiring and interactive workshops were designed by the experts Timo Hinrichsen (managing director, Virtual Service Solutions), Ricardo Gomez-Ulmke (senior consultant for digital transformation & innovation, salesforce.com), Alexander Mai (director UX / strategy / business innovation, DER Touristik Online) and Dominik Grau (chief innovation officer, Ebner Verlag).

In addition, Benjamin Böhm (managing director, bbf) and Dr. Markus Heller (managing partner of Dr. Fried & Partner) presented the idea of a data driven pricing model as an innovative approach to digitalisation in the travel and transportation sector.
