Who Wins? Who Loses? In-depth Analysis of the Structural Change in the German Travel Market

14.09.2018

Far-reaching structural changes will pose major challenges for the German travel market throughout the upcoming years.
The whitepaper “Who Wins? Who Loses? In-depth Analysis of the Structural Changes in the German Travel Market.” ,is the sound complement to Dr. Markus Heller´s presentation at the fvw congress 2018 in Cologne. It highlights the structural changes, which are likely to impact on the sub-markets of tour operators, airlines, hotels and travel distribution.

The study is based on expert interviews with 23 top managers of leading tourism companies, which took place in Germany from June to August 2018. The expert interviews were conducted based on a semi-structured questionnaire with mostly open questions. Supplementary secondary analyses were used to deepen and interpret the results of the talks.
